Tonight on American Idol, Simon Cowell apologized for the expression that he made by rolling his eyes that many people thought was in reference to the victims of the Virgina shooting. He expressed his deepest apologies and explained that he was talking to Paula Abdul. He admitted to having a conversation with Paula and not hearing the comment that was made. Additionally, this was backed up by a video that showed the conversation with Paula in detail and it proved his innocence. He expressed sympathy to the victims and their family and friends. Simon Cowell may be stern, but he is not heartless!

I agree with you, he is very upfront and straight forward but he certainly is not heartless. I was just glad that he was able to clear this up with the video because if not, the media would have tore him to pieces, (as if they have not already). Anyhow I was happy to see him comment about it tonight.

Yeah I saw this part of the show and thought that it was very nice of Simon to have said this about Virginia Tech.
