This is a growing problem all around the world and also is a growing problem at my house. My son is 15 and about 5 foot 7 and now currently weighs 210. I have tryed to get him more active and talk to him about his eating and he says i am just picking on him and eats even more and does even less activity. He is to the point now that he is stealing food behind my back and eating it as well as the stuff i know about which is out of this world. I have set him down and told him of the health risks and what can happen to him and he just tells me not it wont cause i am just a kid. I am all out of ideas can anyone help me out i need suggestions before it is too late and something does happen to him.

Yes this is a big problem in regards to the amount of teenagers and children of all ages being over weight. This is very bad that your son does not realize what he is doing to his body but I know you are not picking on him and you have to think about his health, and it is very dangerous to be over weight. I do think that you need to read my discussion on health today as this could help you.

I think the first thing is to only have healthy food in the house. Require work from him. If he is busy he is exercising and isnt eating. Drinks should be water not soda and some juices are okay but water primarily.

I do overweight when I was still in school. Now I control what to eat and lots of exercise. Teens should remember that. Not for a good body though, just for a healthy body.
