Is it not the best kind of worship to alleviate the sufferings of the poor, the people who suffer from fatal diseases. Should we allow them to groan in pain and wait for their end? Concern for those suffering is true humanism, that in turn is true worship of God.

Yes, certainly as it has been well said earlier, "service to mankind is service to God". Above all, man is the best animal in the creation of God and so he must recognise the divinity among all living beings including all people. Serving all well as one possibly can, is the real service to God and that is the real and essential worship. Beyond this, rest every thing is only inessential formalities. Thanks.

We just cannot be of help to the entire suffering masses.. still pray for their upliftment, their well being .. bring solace to a chosen few .. you are most likely to be blessed .. good luck and all the very best , friend.

We can try to help them and if that fails, what else can we do?! We can't heal every disease out there, we're not that powerful.

I can't say how much I agree with you. And to think of it, theoretically, this is the foundation of christianity. Unfortunately, all around the world this is not happening, and the only true christians are probably somewhere on another planet. I always try to do the best I can to people suffering and to the ones whom rights are being broken, and not respected, but I don't think I do it because I'm a christian, it's because I've also been through suffering in my life, and my rights were broken, so I know how it feels and try to fight it. If the 1 billion people in the world who claim to be christians, would know what Jesus tried to teach us in his life, maybe there wouldn't be so much hate, sadness, poor people and others. I can even give an example of one of my friends, who is an atheist. But he is my best friend. When I needed a favor, when I was in pain, when I was in trouble, he was always there for me, doing the best he could. On the other hand I have many christian friends that would never lend me a hand. I'm not saying now that atheists are good and christians are bad, or vice-versa, but you see a saint is not a person which prays all day, builds 100 churches and shouts everywhere how good God is, a saint is a person who cares about his fellow kind, about the people he lives with, trying to keep the harmony in place, trying to make peace with peace, and maintain it. All I can say is in my opinion you're absolutely right, humanism is the true worship of God, and it's what he wants from us, it's the most important goal in our life, and probably the reason of our redemption.
