One of the biggest social problems we persons with disabilities face is stigmatization. You move about in a wheel chair and you are ignored, not talked to, not greeted, feared and made completely excluded! Have you ever touched the feelings of a person with a disability in the most positve way by your words, deeds and feelings?

Good Topic.
As a nurse, I worked for 2 years with mentally and physically handicapped adults and it was the most beautiful of experiences for me.
I feel like I was able to make a difference and now it is automatic to hardly notice that someone is "different", in that I mean that "different" according to society.
Though I make it a point not to look at them any differently than I would anyone else and I hope that does not come across as indifference. A fine line huh?
I am now taking home health assignments wiht the physically disabled because it just feels like my calling.
