Is the bible accurate or not?

Hi! i just got this weird idea from my friend... Have you ever read the bible? If so, have you ever wonder was it really jesus who was crucified or not? We, as christians, know that simon helped jesus carry his cross, it was stated in the bible actually.. BUT!!! it was not stated in the bible if simon had returned the cross back to jesus christ!!I would really appreciate it if you guys would reply to my discussion... tnx!
