Is myLot a website with poor content? even if user generated...

Hi! I must admit that I'm only a user on myLot for 3 days now... A friend told me about it, I must also admit that the reason I joined was the money in the first place(curiosity in the second place... how much? how come?)... but I don't like doing something just for the (very small) financial gain... So I won't open up 100 posts a day or so on... I browsed the site a bit... and I see a lot a of posts opened just for what? for $0.10? I believe people who do that, harm the site, because they post poor content... Opening a post just for the sake of it seem really dumb to me... And yet, here I am, opening a post... But not only for the sake of it... I REALLY WANT your opinion on this, I'm not doing it for the money... (today I found 2 people who replied to a post and meant it... I guess there's hope) Thank you.

I have been here for a little while now and really enjoy the discussions here. But I have to say that there are many members on here who will post inane one-line topics in the hope that they will earn mega bucks. What they fail to understand is that they will be deleted just as quickly as they are pointless and against the rules. I come here to get involved in sensible and intelligent discussions, have some fun, enjoy the company on this site and at the end of the day I don't earn mega bucks. I believe in posting well thought out topics and discussions, and like to respond to equally well ut together topics. I would say, stick with it and welcome to MyLot

I think there are some people who create poor quality content here because they're just thinking about the money and aren't really interested in whatever they are posting. However, there are a lot of people here who really are interested in discussion, and I've found quite a few of them in the over three months I've been here. It mainly just comes down to finding those really interesting people and adding them to your friend's list so you can keep up with them. Not only do I check out the discussions my friends start, but also the ones they reply to, because I've found lots of interesting things in that way.

Thanks for your answer... I think that, without knowing my post revealed to me the people that I want to hang around with, on myLot of course... I can't say that I planned that ahead, but that's what happened and I thank you guys for it. :)

I seem to think I post alright topics, although everyone has there bad ones, and everyone has differences in there interests. I do tend to make $1.00 or so a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. I like to try and make topics that everyone will like, but then again, others have different interests than me and will not like my posts.

I think a lot of the questions belong in a chat room. Most people want to chit chat. They don't want to put their brain in high gear to enter a deep and meaningful discussion. Unfortunately for them... that is where myLot is different from all the other forums. When myLot says... "it wants quality posts"... it means long posts with a meaningful answer. That is where the money is. If you respond to a question with one or two sentences... you don't earn anything. Problem is... the money is not big enough to attract the intellectuals to myLot... 3 cents per answer feels like an insult to them and they walk away. So we end up with a lot of people here who decide not to care about the money and just do what they feel like. I don't know how myLot feels about that... and if they intend to do something about it.

Well, if you take a look at it, then i'll say something and that is that NO website. Hear that, no.. read that, NO website, or community, or forum is EVER free from spam and poor quality posts. Even if they aim for good quality responses and all of that, you'll NEVER find a site which has NO spam. So, mylot is just another one. And i dont reply or post topics or responses for the sake of it. I do it because i mean it. Even though i may not have a high post count, or i may not be a member for long. So, even though there is poor quality user generated content, there's always hope and in the case of mylot, that hope is larger then the spam content! Mainly because of dedicated people and strict moderators, prompt actions, and responsive support staff! :)

I have also noticed the same thing lately. This has happened because the population here on mylot is growing very fast. And the people that are coming are mostly who come for the sake of money and just post anything, sense or nonsense. A possiblee solution to this maybe that the MyLot people should give moderator privileges to some of its top users. Whose job would be to filter the content on mylot. This way MyLot can be kept clean and tidy with only quality posts.

I do my best to give my best response to a discussion, but I don't ramble on forever. The amount one writes does not always improve the quality of what a person has to say... However, I am also here to earn a bit of extra money and had $30 deposited in my account by mylot last week. It's not much, but its more than I've made on any of the so called "millionaire overnight" sites.

I've got to agree with you about a lot of this. I get pretty bummed out to open up a discussion that had a good title, only to see that the user only managed to get out a one liner question. I try not to contribute to that kind of a first post, purely because it fuels their drive to post more. If it's a new user (still in the first 50-100 posts) then I'll reply that they should probably think their posts through a bit more before they post a new discussion. I wouldn't be opposed to mylot requiring a minimum character count for new postings, and also prohibiting people with fewer than X amount of posts from starting discussions.

if you or anyone joined Mylot with an aim of just making Dollars, then sorry to say, it degrades the site quality. Its not just a place to make some extra money but also meet new friends and get your curiosity increase and also your knowledge base. I am pretty impressed for what I have seen in since I joined it yesterday !!

I also a fresh user like you (it is about 13 hours since i register myself here). Maybe you're right, there's a lot people here posting their comments and hope a big money. But i have my own reason, i just want to practice my english. Make it better post by post, day by day. I realize about my poor english, so i try hard to learn, make some experience in writing and speaking. And i hope in mylot i can get it. Yup, i think i will enjoy every discussion here.
