I have just finished a lens (blog) Living With Type 2 Diabetes, you might want to read it. I will be putting new recipes in it often. All have been approved by the Diabetic Association and are easy to fix. I have been able to keep my blood suger at a normal level for quiet some time now by following a low-carb diet. It has been approved by my doctor. The 2 recipes that are in my lens are for Cookies because sweets are the hardest things to give up and with these low carb cookies we can still enjoy sweets. Be sure to check often to get more info about this disease and more recipes. Best of health Kowgirl http://www.squidoo.com/sixapart/Diabetes P.S. Please rate my lens when you visit.

Thank you for the resource! I briefly checked out your site. I want to give it the time it deserves so I will check back when I have more time, to view all the other resources as well. The lemon cookies sound good! ~at home mommy~ http://mommyathomefornow.blogspot.com www.personalgrowthresources.net

I have added more to the lens but I have also found the best site I have ever seen. It has all kinds of info. Like recipes, all about carbs and how to count them.. You will be suprised to see how much they have there. http://www.bddiabetes.com/us/ Read the healthy eating guidelines and how carbohydrates effects our blood sugar. Hope this helps

I have type II & you need to make sure he watches his sugar & carbs. Low carb is the way to go. You can normally find great low carb cook books real cheap at Walden Books or Barnes & Noble (in the discount aisles). Also try Diabeties.org (I think that is the site)

Thanks to all of you for the websites you have forwarded me to research. They are all very informative. Kowgirl- the one you sent me had a great print out to keep track of his daily meals, snacks, blood levels and exercise... great way to keep him accountable! and Smithkl80- the next time we go to B & N we will check out the books- I wonder if half price books has a lot too? Thanks again! ~at home mommy~ http://mommyathomefornow.blogspot.com www.personalgrowthresources.net
