Closing the ER?????????

That's what the preview for next week says, due to budget cuts they are closing down the ER. Now wouldn't that mean the end of the show? At least these new episodes are keeping me on the edge of my seat. What were your thoughts on tonight's show? I enjoyed it, Sam is such a strong woman I wish I could be more like her sometimes. I think I am more like Abby though, even though she is a doctor she still got worried over her kid. I'm not a doctor but I am a first time mom and I freak over every little thing my kid gets or does. And Gates isn't the dad now what? And his Dad wow what a jerk! Who are you most like? And what do you think will happen next week? I mean what are things going to be like without the er running? I can't wait to see!

I am a big ER fan and have been since the first episode. But I do think its run its course, ER has lost its edge, we have watched so many fantastic characters come and go. If this is not the last season then I still see the end in sight. It just seems to have runs its natural course :((

good discussion. I have to agree with everything you said about the show. It was so sad when Gates found out she had the results all the time, it's like she didn't want him to know he wasn't her dad. I hope he can get custody of her somehow. I'm glad he told his dad to leave, that's not a positive environment. My kids are 22, 18 and 9 and I'm still like that with them, (so I guess I'm more like Abby)that's just the way some of us mom's are. I was shocked when I heard that last night too, they promise new episodes but what does that actually mean for the show, I don't want it to end, but what is a show titled ER supposed to do without one?

Thank you and I really can't understand it myself I mean ER is an Er right? I too hope Gates can find a way to keep her with him she has been through so much. I know it all has to end sometime with ER but I'm still hooked til the end!

I used to love ER but when they went to Africa with John Carter and there was a spate of violence I switched off for weeks. Now there is another spate of violence, unecessary gratitious violence. I watch CSI and I expect violence. I watch ER and I want drama. I don't want to see the in's and outs of the doctors lives I want to see the patients and more ER work and less background. Lets get the tension back. Lets roll the gurney in, get me an ET tube, some lactate, push some humour in and bring back someone like Dr Kerry Weaver. All the best characters have gone and its time ER hung up its stethoscope and walked off the air.

Sorry to hear that you feel that way. I think Er has done a great job juggling all the in and outs of any er humor, drama and yes violence. That is part of a real Er not everything is sunny. But I thank you for your feedback.

I would be very disappionted if ER ended but I would understand because it can't last forever, every good thing must end. But I sure hope they find something like it to replace it. Adalia
