Push Reel Mowers vs. Gas-Powered Lawnmowers

If you had a manageable amount of land, would you switch to a push-reel mower to help decrease pollution? Gas-powered lawnmowers are noisy and not good for the environment. We had a push-reel mower when I was growing up that was a bit difficult to use - or perhaps it was because I was still a kid and didn't have enough strength to push it.
