If so, do you do it at home, do you bleach or color, weave, frost, highlight, is it a drastic color or of the 'normal' range? What brand do you use and does it dry out your hair, if so, what is the best conditioner you have found fot it?

Yes, I colour my hair, I have been doing it since I was 15. The very first time I coloured my hair I coloured it black without telling my parents. They got home from getting groceries, my mom saw it, asked if it was permanent, I said yes, and she said you are SO grounded lol. When I went to Hair Styling College at 18 I coloured it red, blonde, purple, blue, purple with pink streaks, purple with black streaks, black with blonde streaks, and jet black! Now that I am older and have a child I usually just colour it either plum (dark purplish colour) or red. My hair is brown naturally but I don't like it, it's a bland brown without many hi-lites.

You have had fun with color! I do enjoy different things! Everyone freaked whenI did the magenta (dark violet pink) streaks! Loved it!

When I dye my hair I use Herbal Essence. Usually I try for a red color, my hair being a light brown with red highlights. I'm using Sun In now, it turns my hair a pretty coppery blonde. I use Aussie conditioner. It's pretty good or sometimes I use Mane n Tail conditioner.

OUCH! Using sun in everyday is like (literally) lightening your hair everyday. It is peroxide based. Be careful girl. Reds are always a good thing!! Thanks for your response!

I color my dark blond hair a few shades lighter and have highlights put in. My mom always colors my hair for me.

I have been dying my hair since I was 17. I used to just use peroxide to make streaks but now I actually purchase a box of hair color and do it myself. I naturally have dark brown hair with quite a bit of gray (I am only 32). Right now it is dark Auburn. I have always been doing my hair one shade of red or another. I have had it blond, black, blue black, streaks, highlights, and frosted. I use Herbal Essences most times and it never dries my hair out. I use all of the conditioner that comes with the hair color. When I bleached my hair it was so dry like straw, I used Avon's conditioner for color treated hair and within a week it was nice and soft again.

I have never tried the Avon conditioner. I too prefer the reds. I just did a golden born this time though. That is what prompted the question. I was dying my hair! I didn't like blond either. Too dry and I just don't like blond on me. Thanks for your response!

The number of gray hairs on my head is already alarming so I colored it several times already, first with deep brown, then chesnut brown and most recently a combination of chesnut and burgundy. I noticed my hair becoming drier so I use lots of hair conditioner.

Love the reds! Can never really go wrong with a red! Conditioners are always a definate for colored hair. Thanks for your response.
