old classmates

My husband and I are in our late 20's and have our own myspace accounts. Recently we've been flooded with friends requests from people we went to high school with. Most of them we weren't even friends with. I've got a bad memory so sometimes I have no clue who they are until I look at their school section. Some of the ones my husband got were from nerds he used to pick on. One was a geeky girl that used to have a crush on him, I can say she wrote him the weirdest love message and he shared it with me-what a freak! What do you do with these requests? Do you deny them or accept them? Do you ask old classmates that weren't really friends back in the day to be your friend now? Why?

Oh my gosh...that geeky girl wrote the message along when she placed that friend request or did she send that before? That's freaky and funny at the same time. I get friend requests like these too. I don't do anything about them, really. I'm just silently hoping they'd give up and retract the request LOL

She wrote a message with the request, two times lol. I don't think she gets it!

I have yet to have this problem. The only friends from high school that have contacted me were people I knew and liked. But I guess I would probably deny them if it was someone I didn't know or could not stand. So if you are in your late 20's. You must be getting close to your high school reunion. I'm 28 and I have my 10 year coming up in July of this year. I am excited.

I'm debating on going, I'll probably be pregnant by then. My husband has his the same time too, so who knows what we'll do.

When I had a MySpace account, I used to get random requests from classmates that I hardly ever had contact with as well. Normally, I'd just deny them or let them expire on their own; and I would never request to be friends with someone who I hardly spoke to. I think part of the reason the classmates sent requests was because they were curious to see what I'd been up to since graduation; but my high school reunion is this year so if they really want to talk to me they can wait until then.

I think a lot of people just want to 're-connect' with people from their past, even if they really didn't know them. I personally wouldn't request to be a friend of someone that JUST went to the school as I did, or was the same class I was, but there are some Weird puppies out there. I think it's a judgement call on your end. Do you want to get to know people that you didn't really hang out with? Or do you want to expeand your 'friend' base and get to know them, now that you're older and more mature?

I really don't care to get to know them. It may sound mean but I live on the other side of the country now, what's the point? There are definately weird puppies out there lol, I have enjoyed looking at what some of them have done with their life!

Some I accept because these are people you spent 13 years with. Maybe they wanted to be your friend in school but their friends didn't like you.

Im connected with alot of mine as well and im 35. People grow up and change people who you where friends with may not be like you now and people who you didnt like you may like. Its a nice experience anyway to see how everyone is.

You should be glad you can even find your old classmates. I have had almost no luck (found one person) who I went to school on MySpace. I would love to reconnect with old classmates. At this point in my life (age 34) unless the person was horrible to me in school I see no reason not to be friends with these people!

I was the geeky girl that no one liked in high school, so I don't worry about getting many friends requests. When I do though I usually deny it. I have a select group on my Myspace friends and I like keeping it that way.
