Is there still use for the newspaper?

With the advent of 24-hour cable news channels and the internet, we can get up-to-date news every minute. Newspapers are fast losing ground when it comes to delivering the news. Do you still read the newspaper? What can newspaper publishers do to keep up with the competition?

I do not think that the classic importance of newspapers have faded out in the modern world. As for me , cable news or whatever on line communication would become substitutes for the ever loving morning newspaper..the joy of reading is unsurpassed.

Yes, I still read the newspaper, I read it both online and offline, Sometimes one has more information than the other does. :) .. I like to collect newspaper articles about Trains and railroads too.. I also collect them in my blog. - DNatureofDTrain

A newspaper can be read over and over again and can be carried with you anytime anywhere. Not everyone has cable or internet so I think it's still useful.
