Tragic accident in 'the bay'

It is painfully obvious that Beth Hunter (Clarissa House) is the one who loses their life in an accident - in the major events beginning Monday - according to the advertising.
They are making such a big deal about getting the house ready for her, and then Jack is the one who attends the accident, and Tony (Jon Sivewright) is distraught with grief.
Then, to top it off, Matilda gets swept away by a rip (dangerous current) when she goes down to the beach in her grief.
The death of no other character would make those to react like that.

I thnk it was sad that Beth was in a fatal accident and that she only just come back from holiday and on her way home to see her family...That was sas!
i think Tony couldnt deal with the fact that he jst lost his wife, but how can anyone deal with losing someone close to them....
I know its only a programme but I have never missed an episode.....
