How do you pay your everyday needs like groceries ? Do you use credit card, debit card, cash ? As for myself, I use my credit card and I repay it fully every month. I do it for two things. One is that I do a lot of transactions every month and my bank charge me a lot of cash to do that (I don't want to pay 20$ a month to do my transactions). The second one is because I earn points. I earn 1% of all purchases redeemable in groceries. So far, I have accumulated for 100$ in points and it's not a year since I use that credit card. And you ?

I always pay my groceries with cash. Our credit cards in our country charges us 3% of what we purchase. It's a bit expensive. I know using credit card is handy. But, I want to save money. I just try to have discipline in myself. I threw away my credit card because I call it an instant cash. I can buy anything I like wherever I go. I hate it. So, I decided to just bring the correct amount of money so, I can't buy unnecessary stuffs. It's a lesson for me too.

So, they charge u 3%? I believe here, the more we spend the more bonus or point we get. And they charge everything to the retailer... the shopkeeper..or anyone that we buy the goods from... Unless we delay the payment...

I use 3 credit cards for my everyday needs. Like you I repay them fully at the end of the month to avoid fees. I'm new here in the US so this will help me establish credit. I didn't know about these points thing. That's very interesting! I will have to see if my credit cards offer that option. $100 in groceries is not bad at all! Could you please tell me how you do to redeem your points for groceries? I have to find out if my credit cards offer this too because it's very interesting. Thank you for this valuable information jfpicard.

I use cash. It is easier. I do have credit cards, and a checking account but I don't use them. My husband and I believe it is easier to use cash that way we know how much we've spent.
