Ok, kinda long, but bare with me. When my son was 6 months, his dad went to jail. I called the state for childsupport they said nothing they could do, he wasnt working. (I was just trying to get a judgement so when he got out, it would be in place) Ok, he gets out 1 year later. He helps out with watching him while I work, so I don't make a big deal out of money. year later, back in jail, again, wont do anything. Year later, back out, but collecting foodstamps from welfare. they say, he's not working, we cant get money from him. Fine. He is now working, but living out of state. I have given them his ss# and told them the area he lives in. And still nothing. I'm out of work, and this is the time I could use the extra money. any ideas on how to try and get some money from him?

My daughter's father is $6,800 behind in back child support. He has not paid in a year, but now is back working and witholdings has been sent to his job.You need to go down there and press the issue.I see that you said you dont get welfare in another discussion but if you go down there to social service and apply for their benefits they will definitely get him, because for ONE they are going to want their money back. You need to get your case court ordered, because where I live they dont play. They will go after him.I wish you luck on this issue because we need the help with our children regardless if we are not with the father/mother anymore.I use to see a commercial that says something about if you are owed over $6,000 call Support kids,I dont know if they have a website or not but I think they are different from child support.

thank you, I have tried going through social services, since they provide my medical, but they have yet to go after him. Not so much as even a letter. His father and I are in contact. He knows I have given his info, but he hasnt gotten anything. I guess I will have to take him to court and do it myself, but I really cant afford the fees, which is why I did try getting the state to do it directly...UGH...MEN

Another topic I love to discuss. A friend of mine got thrown out by her parents, didn't have anywhere to go and the father didn't want to know her. (he works) and hasn't yet paid a single penny. (lame claims that the kid isn't his when hello she hasn't been with anyone else because she isn't that type of girl) Cutting it short, Like you she never got anywhere. They told her because he was working a well paid job, she had to go to court and make him pay for the support. (which she tied to do) and he just moved away. Back again, They say he's working go court. (she explains) oh your no your not entitled. I'm parent aswell and I find it hard to believe someone in these cases don't make an important case. Yet for fact, I know a lot of other people who just want the money and get it which say it's some thing's wrong. Also the darn jobcenter but I won't ramble anymore. ~Joey *Poke ~Wakey, wakey! lol

Go apply for help at social services. They will then help you get a child support order. Or atleast they did for me. Ofcourse even once you have an order he might not pay it. My ex owes me 29,000 dollars. good luck I hope they can help you.
