The good boss knows his employees. Is kind and yet firm. He can communicate effectively and be a motivator as well. One that delegates to the employees that can handle it and also to the ones that could use a boost without harming the company. My boss is ok, he is good but we do not interact much since I am stationed at a job and not at the office with him.

Any business can not be successful without the proper people that are running the business or the departments within the business. You have to have good managers and supervisors who can get the job done and make sure the other employees are doing their jobs as well. You have to be a good leader, have good communication skills, be a hard worker, be loyal, work extra or long hours and be committed to the company goals and future. A business needs all of these things in a boss. My boss has some of these qualities but not all.

I think a good supervisor knows well the business or job he is handling. He is fair and he takes care of his people by motivating them to excel in their jobs and compensating them accordingly. He should be able to recognize and appreciate efforts given by his employees, and commend them whenever necessary. He should be honest and hardworking so that his employees and subordinates will take inspiration from his ways.

ofcourse a supervisor boss is the key man to get the things done by his subordinates and a good supervisory boss should be able to motivate and guide his subordinates appropriately so that a team spirit is maintained. he should also allow small incentives to the efficient and sincerely working so that others are also motivated. speaking of my boss she does motivate, help in sorting out any difficulties in cool way. she always supported my efficiency and also gave incentives.

One that leads by example, has an "open door" policy, open to suggestions, supportive in staff development, supportive in training, good communication skills (both orally and written), good leadership skills, people skills, able to interact with people from different cultures, has a positive attitude, hardworking, able to set targets and achieve team goals, cooperative, approachable, able to give positive criticism, team player, oh and my list goes on LOL. I am not currently working but the last supervisor I had did not have most of the qualities I have listed above. She was the complete opposite and it was difficult working for someone like her.

Just a boss cannot assure the success of a business. It is a collective effort which can be done with the help of all the staff and boss. A boss qualities should be 1) Motivating the staff, 2) Attracting the clients, 3) Fixing the goals for the success of business, 4) Managing the business with an aim, 5) dedicated towards the work they are doing.

I think someone who respects their employees is key. Someone who doesn't talk down to them and treats them as they want to be treated. My boss tends to make work fun and interesting. She likes to make prank calls and has even tried a couple on me with the help of one of her employees in one of our other offices. LOL

what are your opinions are you started the discussion? a good manager must be strict enough to get the work done but not so strict that his employees don't want to work for him. he must be approachable and balance company vs employee needs he must know how to delegate, give the right job to the right person to get the best job done. he must not show favouritism but base his decisions on company performance employees must trust him and believe he is fair.

They should listen to the employees, never reprimand them in front of others. They should be honest in all their dealings. Keep their word.

A good supervisor or boss is someone you rarely see unless you seek them out. That means they are leaving you alone and trusting you to do your job as you see fit.

I think the most important qualities of a boss is the ability to motivate people. If he knows what motivates whom ,then people in his team will always be efficient and responsible with their assignments. He should also be a good leader so that in times of crisis he leads by example. The other quality a good boss must have is delegating the right assignments to the right people. For this he has to know the skills of his employees. If he identifies the talent pool he has and can motivate them to give him what he wants ,I'd say he is a good boss.

In a successful business, a good boss should show their appreciation for a good employee by allowing them to use their creativity and talent to help the business grow. Good, self-motivated employees are what makes a business work. When the business does well due to the efforts of the employees, they should be compensated financially. This will keep them interested in being productive, and make them feel appreciated. The boss should be fair and open to suggestion on how to manage things.

A good boss is someone who takes the time to understand his/her employees and builds a good relationship with them. One who is not afraid to get the job done, even if it means getting his/her hands dirty too. This means that they should be willing to do what he/she asks their employees to do. I always respect someone more if they are willing to work along side the employees rather than above them.

I currently have the best supervisor I have ever worked with in my entire life. He is very organized and motivated. To be a good boss, one should know how to handle your subordinates, how to make full use of their skills and capabilities, to remind them of their tasks and meet with them regarding the team's goals and current status. A boss must not be temperamental because this may affect a member's outlook towards him and towards work. A boss must know how to cummunicate to his members in a manner that would encourage to do better the next time. There are so many traits that I can mention on how to be a good supervisor, and what I mentioned are just some of it.

Good supervisor for me is someone that understands you as his/her employee. They not judge you with minor views, but they seeing you in much more wider view. They are trying to understand your obstacles in job, and hopefully able to give you some solutions. Not all solutions are good, but at least they will able to give solutions. They don't following you around to make sure you did the job, that's annoying. But they trust you to do the job, and qualify the result. My boss, well, mostly he is a good supervisor. But when his temper is rising up, his good image supervisor gone immediately..LOL
