clever and smart?

many of people say that we must clever to acvhieve our career, but in the fact, we can see many of clever people gain succes but not optimal, and many of clever people culminate become professor. and i have the other clever people become the best staff but just become staff not more. in the other side, i see the standar people but gain the better career than clever people. many of people say that is just lucky. but if we want be honestly, it's not just lucky, but they smart, they can use their ability become the great weapon for career.just little ability you have will make the great change for this world and your career. what do you think become clever or smart? or both?i think both is better, but just few people have that.
