I am advised by my computer technician not take out my laptop battery even while using the normal electric power because doing so could damage the laptop. I read somewhere before that battery should be taken out while using the normal electric current. I am confused which is which. Please share if you have any authoritative knowledge on this.

Laptop are designed to be plugged in while in use. Lots ans lots of people are using theirs laptop on the electric current without removing the battery. Anyway, the laptop are designed to recharge the battery to full charge when it's plugged and ofter that shutdown the power diverted to the battery. You can't overcharge a laptop.

Does that technician know what he is saying? Unless you want to charge the battery, you should always remove it when running the laptop on electricity. To do otherwise will just ensure that the battery spoils faster.

Im also sure that you dont know what are you talking about! Saving the battery life by taking it out from laptop while using the ac outlet is a complete disadvantage with the computer! if the plug is accidentally unplugged to its main source the computer with automatically shut down at an instant ! that could result in a troublesome effect with closing the down the computer properly ! Afterall what's the use if you are to save the life of the battery ! But it's up to you ! you can always choose what to save , the battery it self or the computer it self!!

It used to be the case with some older laptops with nickel-cadmium batteries. With more modern MiNh batteries that is not a problem and the chargers have improved. As long as the batteries last about two years that is ok because after that the laptop is obsolete anyway.

i think there is no need to take out battery.you should charge the battery when the battery power is low.when it is low you have to connect to a charger.this way you can continue your work.
