St. George's Day parade - boy scouts.

April 22, 2007 1:42pm CST
23rd April is St. George's Day in England. The Scouting movement has an annual parade on the nearest Sunday. I attended for many years as our Brownies and Guides also joined in and then I helped to run a Cub pack. It was a sort of joke in our household that to make sure people did not arrive late they would all add a quarter of an hour to the time they were given. This meant there was a lot of hanging around. It was a great experience to see all of the people in their uniforms marching with the flags and bands - even if the lasting memory was of a boring church service. My children were cubs and brownies (respectively) but I do not remember them going on parade. Did they still have one in your area today.
