Do You Have Trouble Standing In Lines?

All my life I have had trouble standing still, especially, when I am standing in line at a bank or grocery store or something like that. It is not that I am impatient, it is just that I feel that I have to be doing something at all times and if I am not, I get very restless. If somewhere is there to talk to, I am fine. I can also read a book or listen to music, but if I have nothing to keep me occupied, I will turn and walk as far as the line allows and turn and breathe hard and fiddle with things around me. I guess I just get bored very easily.

That's exactly the way I act, too, when it comes to standing still, either I'm waiting in line at a bank or something, or I'm just waiting for someone who I have to meet. Just like you, I feel like I just have to do something: THEN and THERE! lol. I don't think there will ever be a remedy for this, at least in my situation but, trust me: I would give anything to find it! :) best wishes, Roxana

I have always had this problem I am ok as long as I'm moving around but when I have to just stand in a line for a long time I just cant do it. It is a like I am all wound up and have to keep moving.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't it just depends on how tired I am, what I have to do, and how long I've been standing in line. I usually don't have too many problems with doing it unless something is going on in front of me that's taking forever for the line to move.

I don't like standing in line but if I have something to occupy myself with I'm ok. I could probably read in line with no problem. I'm going to have to remember that for next time. I don't mind talking to people either. It's interesting what you can learn from people.

I don't mind it sometimes, however if the line is moving slowly and the bank tellers are busy chatting, I get annoyed LOL Most of the time I just look at everyone around me.

I get this way too. I do find with me it is alot about impatiences but not because the people working the line are slow. It is because of my fast paced life and trying to get everything done and line ups slow me down sometimes to the extent of ruining the whole day by putting me way befind schedule. Guess i am always in a hurry.

I hate standing in a long line myself. So I understand you. I get ready to sit down standing in one spot for to long tires my body out.

I know what you mean. Defently bring a book, write in a notebook (journal kinda), play a video game, day dream, or bring someone to talk to! That always passes the time when you have someone else to talk to and goof with :))

When I am standing in line with nothing to do I count how many people are ahead of me and try to guess how long it will take me to get to the front of the line. I also look all around me, at the bank I try to figue what kind of lives people have, I kind of make of stories sometimes for there lives. Sometimes I try to over hear what they are talking about to someone else. Sometimes I will decide what I want for a dinner party or what I need at the market. I try to keep myself busy. I do not have a walkman or an m3p player. I am deaf in one ear so I do not dear put something in my good ear then I will not hear when I am called "I will take you now or next."

geee!!!i know the feeling..from where i come, from standing in lines, especially long ones, really gets into my nerves.but then if its really, really important, i stay and finish what i started.coz if i turn and walk away i would then have to come back another time and start all over again.and thats not ok,right?
