My cell phone is necessary for my type of work. Before I had a cell phone we didn't do as much business. Now my employer has provided all of the staff with cellphones sothat we can always be contacted in case of an emergency. The cellphone is also a great help as sometimes our customers problems can be solved over the phone instead of having to travel long distances. On the other hand, they can sometimes be a nuisance, as I get lots of calls just when I am sitting down to have my meals. Still, I think they are quite usefull and can ofen save a lot of time and money.

I definitely don't find it a necessity. I do own one but I keep forgetting to charge it :D I do have a home phone where people can reach me if there's anything importnat so I don't have that much need for it :P And by the way I really wouldn't appreciate it if my boss kept calling me after hours. It has happened once or twice and I do understand the need for it in cases of emergency but I really wouldn't accept it to happen very often. You should ask your boss to pay for your cell phone if he's the one who needs it most LOL.

you know i don't have a cell phone & neither i have felt the need to have one.It is a question of your need & compulsion.then it becomes your neccessity. But at work many times one can't do without cell phones. That is true.
