i learned using the chopsticks before i went to taiwan but i really practiced it more when i already stayed there. i use chopstick to eat almost all types of food especially on noodles, but not on finger-foods of course. are all mylotters able to use chopsticks or are there still some struggling to learn how? on what foods do you use the chopsticks? how often do you use it? for chinese and others who are more familiar with manners in using chopsticks, can you share some? filipinos like me are not that familiar with it, so i would like to add my knowledge regarding it.

I have Chinese food practically every night.. and you normally use chopsticks for that. Well, you can substitute it with a fork so it is alright either way. So yes, I do know how to use the chopsticks. Since young alright? :P

using chopsticks - chopsticks
I also love using chopsticks. I find a lot of benefits from it. My cousin who worked in Japan for a year taught me how to use it. And I must admit that it's really hard at first. However, when you get used to it. It will turn out as easy as possible. It just goes with the flow. I'm used to eat with spoon and fork. And I really find it very entertaining to use chopsticks than the usual equipment. One benefit of chopsticks is that it's very cheap. It's affordability really entice me to buy a bunch of it and use it at home whenever I eat. After eating, I just dispose it right away. So, I don't need to wash more dishes after eating. (laughs)

I'm Chinese Filipino and my grandparents have taught me to use chopsticks at a young age, although we usually just eat the Filipino way, using the spoon and the fork. It's pretty difficult to teach without demonstrating :). You can use it on almost all types of food, if you're good at it. Well, except for shellfishes and crustaceans, for these you still need to shell them with your hands. :)
