do you know how to calculate your electric bill?

I manage all the expenses in our home and this include the paying of the electric bill, i am wondering why I have pay a high amount without knowing where it goes. Is anyone out there how to calculate the readings on the meter? HOpe you can help me!

I think you would have to be pretty clever to be able to figure out electricity bill or phone bills for that matter, I wonder if anyone really can figure them out, there certainly is a lot figures and stuff on the bills...
