when a friend forgets.if he is a very good friend one should take the initiative and try to work out with him.but if he is down lately and i get a feeling he is getting detached i leave him as well.but memories friend who has been close always come and makes you feel sad.

I have recently experienced this. I moved from the town I grew up in my whole life to a town 30 minutes away and all my friends said they would keep in touch. I have heard from 2 of them. So my theory is that they were just mere aquaintances not real friends. At first I was mad but now I am like oh well I guess I didn't need them after all.

I've learnt that if they say they will not forget you and they really do keep in touch then they are real true friends. Those who don't make the effort to keep in touch are not true friends. I live 2 1/2 hours from all of my good friends but I stll talk to the main ones at least 3 times a week and sometimes more than that. There are a couple who I do not talk to anymore because they don't make the effot to keep in touch. I can write and they don't write back but when I see them they say ohh you forgot about me you never write or call but it's really the other way around. I've just learnt to move on and try and make new friends.
