I love animals but I am totally against people having pets as though they were toys. I was very disturbed when I heard over the radio that on the average 9000 pets are abandoned by their owners in year (this is in the UK. Why have a pet when you can't take care of it? Animals have feelings too. They get very distressed when abandoned or had to go to a new home, just like humans. I don't keep a pet because I know my busy lifestyle doesn't allow me to take care of another life properly. It won't be fair to the pet. I hope more people realise that pets are not fashion or social status items. Be realistic and value another life.
