Meeting real friends on the internet is hard enough but how about meeting someone who could be a potential lover? Have you ever experienced this? I met my first boyfriend on the net as well, through mirc. He turned out to be the guy who was courting my best friend back in high school. What a laugh we both had when we realized that we actually knew each other. Aside from the unconventional meeting, the relationship proceeded as usual. Now, since I don't go out much, and dwell most of the time in virtual space, I've met another special person through the net. My second boyfriend, if everything turns out well. I'm just curious if anyone has met their boyfriends or lifetime partners through the internet. Share your stories.:)

I met m husband on the internet. I was not looking to meet anyone on here but I met him. We met on myspace. He had just moved to my area from out of state and was writing different people since he wanted to get to know some people from around here. I was one of the people he wrote and we've been together since the first day we actually met in person. lol We talked online for about 3 months before ever meeting.

I never thought of writing to people from around my area but that's a great idea especially when you're new in town. A fast way to meet friends, and in your husband's case, the girl of his dreams.

Haha! Funny you ask that question, yes I met my husband online. It was July 3rd 1999 and I was online just chatting with friends, I met this guy in a chatroom and we immediatly hit it off, then the lights went out in my home and we lost contact. Well the next day he IM'ed me just as I was about to go out with a friend, he and I talked for about 2 hours then I had to go. After another day or so we found out that we liked one another and we lived in the same city, so on July 7th he asked me out over the phone!! July 9th was our first date, and it was so romantic and sweet, we just simply fell for one another, and now this year we will be celebrating 5 years of marriage on June 7th, and 9 years together as a couple on July 7th. Pretty cool huh? :) I'm still very happy with him.

Nine years! Wow. And so I thought virtual relationships ended up in splitsville most of the time. I was a bit afraid to embark on another internet-launched relationship but with the stories that people have shared here, I'm a bit more confident. And it's comforting to know that you are still happy together. I guess it's not the mode of primary meeting that makes or breaks a relationship, it still relies on the two individuals and on how they work it out. It's great that you remember all the dates, does he? Haha. guys have a bit about dates. Mine said I should remind him every so often.

I met my now live in boyfriend on the internet, I was on a single site and met one guy, we had been dating awhile (a few months) and things were not progressing well, he was always too busy with his work to ever want to go out, one day while cleaning out some of my bookmarks I noticed the site that I met my first boyfriend and went there and saw and email that interested me from my now boyfriend. He wanted to take me to a boxing match (which I love), so I answered his email, wanting to go see the boxing match, when he wrote again he asked me to go to a baseball game that night (I love baseball, too), so I went I had such a wonderful time I broke up with my boyfriend the next day and started dating this new guy, it has been almost a year now since we first started dating. He are totally in love and have the best relationship, we moved in together almost 6 months ago and everyday we both feel blessed to have found each other.

Well my sister, which is our youngest, met her fiancee online. A filipino migrant from Canada, and they are scheduled to wed this year at around August. As for me, I guess luck was on my side. As I try to make my very best for my new relationship to work, yes, I also met her online. It's my first time to have met someone so dear to me on the internet, and I hope that our relationship would last up until the end. I can also say that she's my lucky charm, as she try to motivate me and make my life more better and meaningful!;)

I'm not yet sure if my sister would be there soon enough, as the wedding will be held here and she has to take care of her papers. I will surely miss her if that would happen, but I'm glad at the same time and proud of her that she now found her loved one.

I'm happy for your sister. Will she be migrating to Canada after the wedding? I hope your new relationship works out well and yes, with luck and a lot of hard work and patience, until the end. It really is quite tiring to invest emotionally and just have to break up in the end so I wish you the best.

I'm getting better and better feedback from this virtual relationship thing. My first only lasted for 1 year and a half. I hope this other one lasts longer and of course happier.

I could meet a guy and have friendship and more than a partner. So it depend on mind of both side.

It's something i really wouldn't object to. I noticed that with online relationships, since you can't really see each other, each party doean't hide his/her feelings. I must say there's something about our eyes maybe that stops us from being honest to our partners in the real world. Do you think so too?

I fell in love with the way he writes, and that says a lot for him because I'm studying to be a professional writer. Online relationships allow people to be what they really are (although in some cases, to lie about what they are) and not to be prejudged by physical looks. So the love that I have for my boyfriend now is not based on his looks but on his mind, on his way of thinking, and on his heart. I find that better than falling in love with a person's 6-pack or aquiline nose.

It never happened to me yet. I met different people and become their friends too, but I have no special feelings for anyone. How does it feel to meet someone special on the internet? Is it really possible? I mean you feel love to someone you've never met personally?
