Is the media to blame for anorexia?

The influence of the media on the proliferation of eating disordes cannot be refuted. Today, you cannot read a magazine or newspaper, turn on the television or listen to the radio without being assaulted with the message that fat is bad. The most frightening part is that this destructive message is reaching kids What do you think?

i think the media are to blAme. but for me bullies when i was in year 7 were to blame aswell! they called me fat because i have quite a big bum, (in which i am kind of proud of now haha) but it had a big impact on my life, i am only 9 and a half stone (well just over) and am about 5ft 2 but im quite muscular ... well not looking at me you wouldnt think i am well i think i am anyway, cus for a girl of my height i can lift a thirty kg punchbag, but it hurt my feelings alot! but the fact of the media you CANNOT look anywhere without seeing the likes of size zero models nowadays and to me thats enough to make a size 8 girl feel fat :(

I think it does have a big role in this disorder.

Anorexia and overweight are similar. I do overweight when I was still in school. Now I control what to eat and lots of exercise. Not for a good body though, just for a healthy body.

I know that the media is trying to educate about anorexia but I think they just give people ideas. People are looking for a way out and this is it.
