Death In the Family...

Jack - Jack the cat, now dead

The other week my dad came home from work and found our cat lying in the driveway. It was a hot day and it looked like he was sun bathing on the tarmac. After closer inspection his mouth was wide open and he was panting. We got him inside and found that he couldn't move his legs or tail and his claws were ground down. The only explanation is that he was hit by a car down our street and, only being able to use his front legs, clawed his way back to our house in an attempt to get home and make sure we knew he needed help. Its just a shame that the person that did it fled instead of checking to see if he was alright. So we rushed him to the vets and they spent over an hour trying to sort him out but he died while they were still doing x-rays. I know its not like he is a human and we didn't have him that long. But he had a great character and he will be sadly missed. He was an amazing cat. It's weird to think that his life has now ended and there is so much he will miss. Its like the end of a chapter but everything else moves on.

He is not human - BUT he was still a member of the family and it would be strange not to be sad. When I lost my cat I cried, and cried and cried.. It was horrible and still today I can think of him and miss him. He was a great cat. After him I never got another one - first I am allergic, but also he loss was just to much =(

I am so sorry for your loss hun. I have lost two cats before and each time I felt the loss very keenly. You have lost part of your family in a way and it is quite understandable that you are upset. Hold on to the memories you have of your cat and he will always be with you. (hugs)
