My First Mother's Day is coming up!

I am very excited about this! Mother's Day here in Canada is May 13th this year and it will be my first. I say it's my first even though I was pregnant with her last year on Mother's Day, that doesn't count! She wasn't out for me to enjoy and I didn't even get a kick or anything!
I know I won't be getting any cool handmade presents or breakfast in bed since my daughter is only going to be 6 months old, but I don't care. All I want this year is a kiss and a hug and to play with her all day!
It's on a Sunday so we will probably go over to my Nanny's get a cake, watch movies and hang out in the gazebo. It's so great to have my mother and grandmother around to celebrate. The following day is when we will leave on our trip to visit my great grandmother! Being a mom is the best don't you all agree. Happy soon to be Mother's Day and those that have past to first time mom's and mom veterans! You are all wonderful!

I'm in the same situation, although my daughter will be about 11 1/2 months old for my 1st Mother's Day. Also, i think our Mother's day is on the 21st - but don'y quote me on that!
I have to admit, i'm not nearly as excited as you are about spending it with my Mum & Grandma etc - my Grandma is a nasty lady & my Mum takes over with my daughter (she acts like she's the Mum rather than me) so i'm not really looking forward to my 1st Mother's Day coz she'll make it all about her.
Maybe one day she'll understand & back off a little so i can actually enjoy being a Mum! I know it might sound harsh but she's been like this since my daughter was born last June & it does get a little bit much sometimes!

Happy Mother's Day! This will be my second Mother's Day. My son was 3 months old last year for Mother's Day, and it fell on my first wedding anniversary, so it was extra special. I actually did get breakfast in bed and the whole nine yards!
This year, I'm thinking I will probably end up with a picture that my son draws and a card that my husband helps him sign.
That's great that you get to spend the day with your mother and grandmother. I'm sure I'll call my mom that day and send her a card. The baby and I will get to see her in June, though, so that will be good enough.

You sound so Happy Sunup. It's contagious! Keep it up ha! And Happy First Mother's day! My first baby, my son exactly, was born on May 9. So for me he was the most precious gift I had on my first Mother's day. And I loved the feeling. I was so happy. Enjoy your First Mother's Day Sunup! Have a safe trip too! Congratulations on your first mothers day. It is such a special day to share with your children and your mom. You are blessed to have your grandmother there to celebrate also. I have been a mom for 18 yrs and still love mothers day. I usually am the one still cooking, but it is such a great feeling when your child writes you a poem or draws you a picture. I know you will have a great day!!
