Can T-Mac Win His First Playoff Series?

You better believe it: Tracy McGrady has never won one playoff series in his entire career, good as he may be. Back in Orlando, he never really had someone else to rely on, but when he got to Houston, he was supplied with an excellent center in Yao Ming. Could this spell the difference for T-Mac's legacy? This year, they face the Utah Jazz in the first round of the playoffs. They have a lot of advantages: their superstars (T-Mac and Yao Ming) are both healthy, they have homecourt advantage, and the Utah Jazz are seemingly in a slump, losing a lot of their recent games before the playoffs. So, the Rockets are in a position to give McGrady his first playoff series win. (As Steve Kerr said, if he doesn't win this, his legacy will remain to be: the best player to have never won a playoff series.) What do you think? Can T-Mac get past the Jazz and snatch his first playoff series win?

yes, he didn't win any playoff series in his career, but he was close twice. one during the 2002 playoffs where the orlando magic had a 3-1 lead over the detroit pistons and ended up losing the last 3 games and in the 2005 playoffs, where the houston rockets had a 2-0 lead over the dallas mavericks, but ended up losing the next two in their home and eventually the series, again 4-3. i think houston can get past the first round this time and t-mac finally getting his first playoffs series win. he's got yao ming, shane battier, luther head and dikembe mutombo along him, houston is definitely a second round worthy team. it would be great since houston will have a chance to avenge their 2005 playoffs loss to dallas provided that dallas wont be upset by the golden state warriors

Yeah, they've already won two games at home and they're in great shape to bring an end to this series soon. The question now for the next two game is: Can the Rockets hold their ground in Utah? I guess we're all bound to find out soon.

utah got houston in game 3, 81-67. kinda a low scoring game. that now makes the series interesting. for sure t-mac, yao and the rockets will make up for such a mediocre performance

I don't get it. It's embarrassing, really. Utah's not supposed to be that good defensively, and Houston's not supposed to be that bad offensively. I don't see a trend starting here; if there's something to expect, it's the Rockets bouncing back in Game 4. If they have any pride at all, they should be able to forget this game and move on.
