Why Does several Doctors nowadays are taking up nusing course? as we all know, Doctors are Professionals and its a status/name higher than Nurses. they are degrading themselves! just for money!? and now we talk of money! Doctors suppose to have high salary than those of Nurses (before) , but why now Nurses has a salary as much as of Doctors or even higher?! why is this happening? You know here in philippines you will see many student nurse studying in a certain school! huh!? like a colony of ants! Why is this happening?

It seems ridiculous but it does happen nowadays. As you know, there is a large shortage of nurses in europe and the U.S,so they recruit nurses from Asia every year. Those nurses from Asia enjoy a good reputation of being hard-working,low-paid and high-quality.In terms of doctors, western countries have their own training systerm so they consider doctors from Asia not qualified. No wonder for those who want to work abroad would take up nursing courses although they were doctors before.

I dont know what are you talking about. Everybody know that doctors make more money than nurses. Don't you know that nurses work for doctors?. Besides, to persue doctor career, its very difficult and it takes longer than to become a nurse.

It is easier to work abroad as a nurse than a doctor. Here in the USA if you graduate from a medical school not approved by the American Medical Association, then you must go thru another 3 years at the most of medical retraining in an American school - paid only thru you. No scholarships, no grants. If you come here as a nurse, you are only required to take a 6 month to one year refresher course, depending on your state. Most foriegn MDs use the time working as nurses while they study for their American doctor licenses.

Probably the economic situation in the country had affected their decision. I have 2 former high school classmates who were a professional dentist and engineer and already in their late 30's, who have decided to took up nursing so that they can migrate and have a good or stable life in abroad. Since the need for nurses in other countries had rise up, people are looking for this opportunity to work and settle in big countries like USA and UK. It is really sad to know this but that's reality. I believe all of us wanted to have a better and greener future for our family.
