Do you want a solution for dead children on the road, for car accident, for youngster boozing and driving, for junkies who want to have a night ride etc etc etc... way simple. Auto pilot cars. Seem weird but I think that with current technology could be real in few years. I only think there too few development on this subject beacuse people are generally afraid of a self driving thing. Would you be pro or con?

So what is new about it. Autopilot cars were there for over 100 years. You don't have to steer them. But you have to control the condition of the road. So a road has to be developed to accomodate the vehicle. They are more popular by the name "Train".

mmm... trains cant go wherever you want cos iron roads seems very expensive and resource consuming. trains and tram is not an answer to reach scarcely populated places, a car has no timetable and it can go wherever theres as trip of even soil. and then I luv carz!!! and hate trains ;)

The technology already exists. Problem is getting it put into play would cost billions on billions of $. All the roads would have to have electronic markers installed as well as EVERY car. Nobodies going to pay for all that. With that kind of effort being put in we could all be driving oversized electric bumbercars on covered roadways. not going to happen anytime soon.
