Is there a benefit to attending online universities vs. traditional universities? Which one is the actual future of higher education? Why or why not?

Online education as opposed to traditional in-class education is the future of all forms and types of education programs. As people become more active and bussy in their daily lives, online education offers them many pluses not found in traditional methods. For example, more courses, degrees, certificates and concentrations. More flexibility in terms of schedules and time for completion. Make sure you do a thorough check-up on the school and programs. Check for accreditation - this is very important. You do not want a degree that will not be accepted by future employers or other educational institutions. Compare tuition costs between universities, colleges and schools who offer the type as well as the best education you're looking for. Remember that you want a good priced education but also a good, quality education. What you can do is experience it first with one course and if you do not like it you can always go back to the traditional in-class education methods. Which in many schools are still stuck back in the middle ages.

Marissa 2007, thank you for your input. I have had some extensive experiences with Walden Unversity which has been a neutral experience. I have spoken to some other friends that have attended UOP which has not been very positive. Do you know of any other recognized university with a better track record?
