First of all congratulations on your graduation and well done for being landed a job straight after graduation! I've worked in a call center for 5 years. At the beginning it can be very stressful while your learning curve will go sky high at the same time as coping with the new environment, new lifestyle, new people and customers on the phone. Rest assured that once you've settled down, you'll find that it is one of the easiest and enjoyable experience you'll ever experience. It can still be stressful at busy times but the key is to learn how to cope with stress. Having friends around during break time and exchanging "funny" calls reduced my stress levels. A very important tip is to never ever take work home. Being consciencious, I used to take things to heart and not sleep properly thinking about it all night. I've learned to switch off work as soon as I put the headset down. One good thing about call center is that I found a lot of good friends there. We've all moved on our separate ways but still meet up every so often. At the end of the day, it is your colleagues at the center that makes the work lighter and enjoyable so make sure to make friends straight away. I'm sure you will do well. Good luck and God Bless.

Well, I am a Dispatcher for a Company that dispatches Cabs to people, and we are like a Call Center, where everyone is answering Calls at the same time, and stuff. I actually Love having the opportunity to work with people, and such. Doing it via the phone can be a Great opportunity. In all reality, there is nothing to be afraid of, and I wish you the best of Success with this. I am sure you will do Great.

i have no experience, but i can atleast tell you that no one will just give you job directly, Since you are fresh graduate, first they will train you and then will give you job.. once you are trained then you need not to worry about anything..

Well for sure you'll enjoy working in a call center since the environment is similar to that in school. You work with people of the same age and you have similar interests. Peope who work in this industry are fun loving people since we need it. After all the stress, most would love to have a massage or have a cold drink. The best part about this is you can afford. I'm a lisensed engineer but I decided to work in a call center because I earn twice as much as my batchmates who have jobs related to out field. Of cousre this is compensation for the endless days without sleep. But my best advise would be to be as flexible as possible. Don't ever stay in one department too long unless you're being promoted. Call center jobs are routinary in nature. You do the same thing everyday and it gets boring as time slowly passes by. I suggest you try everything like being in sales, customer service, quality assurance, tech support, etc. But the best for me is being in tech support since you have maximum brain usage and it never gets boring. Being a trainer is also fun and watching your trainees learn and become better is very rewarding. So goodluck in your career as a cal center agent. If you want to apply in our company which is by the way "the best" call center in terms of salary and career growth, do let me know.

hi there, congratulations on your graduation and on ur new job. As for your question, working for a call center has its pros and cons, as with any other industry. the high pay makes and good benefits compensate for the odd shifts and the holidays you have to be at work instead of joining your friends and family. it could also be a career for you. however, it could also be very difficult especially if their hr department did not profile you well, meaning placed you in an account that is best suited for you. Life in a call center is very challenging and rewarding I would say. =)
