Dinesh Kaarthick in the indian team for his batting or his keeping?

dinesh kaarthick once the member of indian u-19 team has been selected for the full tour of Bangladesh in next month.. he was there in world cup but wasn't given a chance and his record as a batsman hasn't been well enough but again he has been given a chance in the team as a specialist batsman in both forms of the game over some really talented players from states like punjab, delhi. what you think selectors are trying to do? are they looking to reduce the average age of the indian team or just having some favour for Dinesh Kaarthick or Dinesh Kaarthick deserves a plce in the indian team as a batsman?
