Spider-Man will spin his web on New York City from April 30th to May 6th, which has been designated Spider-Man Week and will include dozens of events. The big event will be the U.S. premiere of "Spider-Man 3," which will be part of the annual Tribeca Film Festival. Screenings of the latest Spider-Man movie will take place simultaneously in a number of theaters in NYC on May 4th. Naturally one of these theaters will be in Queens, the borough where our web-spinning hero Peter Parker was born. The Festival is also featuring midnight showings of the first two Spider-Man movies so viewers can create their own Spidey movie marathon. Any special Spider-Man premiere events in your town? Will you be seeing the movie soon after it comes out?

I guess a lot of people like the character, it's been around for decades and has had three successful movies. The Spiderman Week was done in conjunction with the Tribeca Film Festival (where the U.S. premiere of Spiderman 3 took place). The fact that the Spiderman movies take place in NY (at least the one I saw) gave NYC a nice promotion boost.
