Okay, so you complete offers, registrations and do postings (like we do in myLot). But how do you make money offline? Actual jobs are not part of the discussion. =P Also, "saving" doesnt count. =]

I sell stuff I don't use anymore -- clothes, appliances, etc. If I haven't used/worn it in a year and it has no sentimental value, I'll sell it. Some of this is against your parameters since I sell some of it on ebay, but I do consign clothes that I haven't worn in a year. Wait, I should say, I TRY to consign them, and if they are nice enough, then I get money. If no one wants to buy them, I donate them and get a slip for it. Then when I file taxes I use it to get a write-off. I also cater events for my friends. I have a buddy that does poker nights at his place and I cater those for him. I'll bring over the food a few days before in disposable tins and then he just heats it up and he's good to go. That's good for me because I'd eventually like to cater professionally. Here in Austin, there are always weird experiments to complete at the University of Texas. They'll pay you $5-$10 to just do puzzles or answer questions for a few minutes. I do those occaisionally, but I know a lot of people in the psych dept. so usually I can't be a "good" subject, lol.

I usually give clothes away, most of the ones I do it's because they don't fit me, or aren't my style (gifts ¬¬). Maybe it's just the way things are in Brazil, clothes are very cheap so I guess used clothes would cost a penny or something like that haha (of course, if they are very good clothes, I'd get some money) I'd like to take some "weird experiments" here in Rio also, but I'm not sure about which universities do that. Maybe I should take a look at that. Thanks for the comment and the tips!

I have a small loading business. I started May 25. So I can say that I have been doing this business for about a year now. I am earning but just a bit. I hope to expand it hopefully this quarter.

Was it hard for you to start your own business? Did you manage to have a good start? Good luck with it!
