Everyone wants to be listened to. To improve social popularity ,you need to listen to others, show interests on their topics and give good comments at proper time together with some noddings to show your aproval and interest.So good a listener makes you a public character.

Yeah! I agree with you! "A good speaker must be first a good listener."
It's apothegm from who? I forget.
I always try to listen carefully when others are speaking.
I dislike the persons who don't listen to me carefully when I am speaking.
It's a skill of communication, I think.
