Do you let your children participate in extra curricular activities?

I have twins that want to join everything...and I let them as long as their grades remain high. Just recently, my little girl tried out for the cheer squad and made the team. In one of their pamphlets, it specified that she had to maintain a 3.0 average to stay on the squad. I think that this is a good idea. What do you think about extracurricular activities and grades

Yes, very much. Now my kids are grown up. But when they were in lower school classes they participated in cultural programs and won several prizes. But I never let them go the field of their interest only.

I think that extracurricular activities are good for our children, when they can choose them. Wow cheerleader.... how nice! Here in Italia there is nothing like cheerleaders, there is an excellent cheerleader here on myLot, Druscilla! :) My little son is 7 and he does karate and lessons of piano as extracurricular activities. He is very happy to do them and I think they are good activities for him.

Yes, I think that is a very good idea! Its important to keep the grades up first and foremost. Plus it teaches them what comes first- SCHOOL! I let my kids usually. My oldest just got done with an after school PE program the gym teacher started. They sent home a flier for performing arts, but neither of the school aged ones wanted to do it.
