I dont why there is Autism any more than why is there any illness or disability. My grandson is 3 and has Aspergers(SP) He is doing great in school. I think the important thing is kids are being diagnosed much ealier now and there are alot of programs to help them reach their highest potential. If you met my grandson at the store or park you would have no idea.

Aspergers Syndrome is under the spectrum of Autism. You are lucky your grandson has Aspergers.Good luck on his therapies. All Autistic people have no physical manifestations so nobody can really tell they have Autism until they become excited and start playing up.

Have you considered that Autism may be caused by all the chemicals that babies are exposed to while in the mother's womb before birth? Did any one see John Karry on the Today show talking about the hundrend of trace chemicals in the blood of newborn babies? I think we have to start looking for more natural alternatives. Check out this site. They even have free online classes to learn more about natural alternatives to products commonly used today. http://www.ahealthcafe.com/cgi-bin/team.cgi?id=li24653&action=show
