Did you ever have a really bad teacher who warped you for life?

I was talking with my sister the other night. She is six years my senior and went to the same schools as me. I guess growing up I didn't really know what was going on in her life. So we were sitting around going through a box of old cook books from the 70's and we came across one from our elementary school. One of the recipes was from my old teacher the choir teacher. My sister says oh she's the one that wouldn't let me sing in the choir told me I couldn't sing. I was blown away, I too was told I couldn't sing and thrown out of the choir. I was in 5th grade. What a horrible experience and I was shocked to find out that the teacher had done this to other kids. What a crushing experience. I was singled out and made to feel like a loser. To this day neither of us will sing Happy Birthday in public! It is something that has stayed with me since then. The teacher has retired by now and probably dead but she sure destroyed at least two little girls self worth. Should teachers like this be allowed to continue or should parents band together and step in? Did you have a bad experience with a teacher?

My ninth grade world hystory teacher was terrible but she didn't ruin my life. My mom was kind enough to take care of her. My mom made her some brownies with a good dose of exlax.
