Single Fathers...WOW

Ok, so we've heard all the hype on single mothers, and how we're amazed at how they do what they do. I'm not debating that at all. What about recognition for single fathers though? There seem to be more and more out there lately, which I think is amazing too. I have a friend, he's 25, and has a 4 year old son that he's been taking care of on his own since he was about 8 months old. I am in total awe of this man! He's a great father and works very hard to provide for his son, sacrificing nearly everything that other 25 year olds are busy doing and enjoying. I admire him as much as I would admire any single parent. Any thoughts on single parenthood?

I think it is great that more and more fathers are becoming the single parent. This shift shows a lot about the men in our world. I know a couple of single fathers and they are really doing an awesome job. I don't know that I could do it any better. No matter who the parent is, I think what really matters is their efforts to raise a happy and healthy child.

There are tons of great single fathers out there that go un-recognized. My uncle has been raising his son as a single father and he is great. His son will be 8 this year and does not see or talk to his mother. She has joint custody but doesn't want to use it. Single fathers are great and just as capable as single mothers.

I think single parents are great! All parents are great! Parenting is a tough job! the hardest job anyone could have. Single parents have the job of both parents. I have a few friends that are men and are single dads. One the wife passed away of cancer. He is doing a great job! I say hats off to all single parents! Really to all parents all together!

I am a single mother of two. I give any person out there that can raise a child on their own much credit. It is very hard, wether you are a man or a woman. I do however think that a man raising his child is wonderful and so sweet also. Give your friend my admiration as well.

I think they deserve even more credit!! I know how hard it is being a single mom and for a guy to do that is just amazing to me!! He deserves alot of credit for stepping up and being responsible for his little boy!!

Yes,I admire single parenthood if they can take care of their children carefully and provide for their children.They are good parent,I think. and their children ought ot appreciate them when they be adults.

I agree, with everything all of you have said, parenting is a hard job, im not sure i could ever do it at all! Kudos to all you parents out there, single or not.
