The Internet is actually pretty safe for making online purchases if you follow a few simple rules: 1. Use a seperate credit card for online purchases only, and make sure they have a $0 fraud liability clause. 2. Make sure you deal with respected sites that offer secure 128 bit encryption and have valid site certificates. 3. Make sure you close the interenet browser after you have made your purchase and then clear your internet cache. If you follow the above guildlines you should be safe. Keep in mind that when you swipe a credit or debit card at a store or atm, your credit card information is travelling over the same lines as it does when you make a purchase on the internet, and often the retailers keep that information on file in their internal databases.

I tend to purchase a lot online, and as long as you seperate credit card for it and go to respected sites it is very safe. I make most of my purchases from amazon, ebay and other bix box retailers like sears, best buy, etc. For the most part it's been pretty positive the only negatives I've had were from best buy who I will never purchase something from online again and amazon, but amazon always makes good on the few issues that have arrived. Do you shop on online babygurl, and if so what sites do you buy things from?

Oh gosh I buy lots online and luckily I have never had an issue with identity theft. I use Ebay, Amazon.com, fragrancenet.com, bathandbodyworks.com, nascarstore.com oh gosh several others that don't come to me at the moment. I did a ton of Christmas shopping last year and it was delightful. I only recommend secure sites of course. I also recommend you allow plenty of time. I always allow 2-3 weeks before I need the item. I think they pool the orders not all ship out the next day. My favorite is probably Amazon, com, because they have great sales (Friday sales are the best) and quality merchandise at a fair price I think.

I don't make as many online purchases that I used to. I used to buy pretty frequently, once a month usually. Now, I buy online every few months, less if I really don't see anything for a good deal that I have my eye on. If I really have to have it and I can find it at a cheap price, I'll buy it. I like buying from amazon.com, and I buy things from etsy.com because they're nice prices for homemade, handmade items that are one of a kind.

I mostly buy from Amazon and Brazilian bookshops (like Saraiva, Siciliano and some other random sites). I think I'll spend my online-money (=PayPal) on eBay, tho. Amazon always get a thumbs-up from me. =D
