locking doors

I was wondering if people from different states or countrys can still leave their doors unlocked and feel safe? I wouldn't leave my doors unlocked for anything. Please tell where you are from if you can leave your doors unlocked.

Nowadays we can never be sure of. Im from the Philippines and we always locked our doors every night or when theres no one at home. even the gate we locked it just to make sure we are safe.
