Come to think of it I am a lifetime liverpool supporter, but I can only say that they don't really have world class players now which can finish the job when we are in our 80s. Yes they do have kuyt, but he isn't really a world class player because sometimes he can't even finish those easy goals. That's one good important point. I can say that our central midfield is one of the best in the world. We still lack of players with the pace at the side, players like ronaldo or robben? Crouch is tall, but he doesn't even have the striker ability. Maybe he can go and play NBA. Pennant is fast and skillful but he isn't creative and crossing isn't accurate enough. Zenden never perform since he arrive at liverpool. Only one winger worth talking about he is gonzalez, fast; skillful; creative. Our defence, Agger is good, but he still lack of experience. When he needs to guard a fast players, he always loses out. Carragher no doubt he one of the best defenders in the world. I am glad he is in the team. Riise isnt really a defender as I believe he is more useful as a winger, and his long shots are like 1goals : 50 shots. Not impressive at all. We can't always depend on those lucky long shot goal. Liverpool is always curse with goalkeeper, when he is always good somewhere else, but when he comes over to liverpool he will surely flop. Reina is definitely not good enough, he flops too many of those goals we had saw. We need a good consistent one. Many more players to talk about... I do agree that our teams are one of the best in 10 years, but just not good enough to be consistent or even win the EPL. I pray for better players , then spending 30 millions on 5 average ones.

Good post! Welcome to myLot. I think you are right about Zenden, he has not been the same since returning from injury. Not so world class. Perhaps when the new owners open up the cheque book there will be a lot of spending on world class players over the summer. Liverpool do have some very good players, but as you rightly point out, perhaps they are missing the cutting edge, the world class attributes that some of the other big teams have. Only really Gerrard & Alonso meets that criteria and even they are not playing in form. Gonzales is a great player but very young so is he going to be the real deal or not? I think Liverpool have to take a chance and drop Zenden for Gonzales. Thanks.

Thanks for welcoming me to myLot. Yap been new here, do take care of me the newbies. Haha... Yes money will come in from those new owners but I hope they spend it in a useful ways. I rather they spend one bunch of money to buy a real world class players or hope to spend the bunch of money to buy different players and hope they shine. Up to now only 3 players fit into the citeria, Alonso; Sissoko and Gonzales. We can't buy and pray we must get someone like messi, or robben or maldini... If we do these players, I believe with the tactical mind of benitez we will be successful in no time... By 2010 we will be the one to beat. Gonzales does remind me of messi... And I do believe he will be a real world class in no time when given more chances to perform.
