I was just thinking about the fact that Mother's day is coming and it got me thinking about all the sweet heartfelt things my Boys have made for me over the years. I was just wondering if you have any favorite things that your kids have made you? I know I love it when they bring home the little plants in a milk carton. I love those I always make sure they are planted. I have also a handmade bookmark where he used a word for each letter in Mother. I just think it is so thoughtful when teachers go that extra mile with the kids. So tell me what do you have in your collection?

The first time that my kids really understood about Mothers day was when they were 7 years old...they had just lost their daddy to cancer and wanted to carry on the tradition that he had started...bringing me breakfast in bed. Well, the night before, Grandma came to spend the night with us and I think it was to help them with this goal. Unfortunately, That morning, while my mother and I slept, they proceeded to make us both breakfast in bed. Here is what they made: Buttered Toast with jelly. Well, ok...it was bread with a clump of jelly. Fresh fruit. Nice thought..the banana had been worked over in the process of getting the peel off! Coffee. This one took the cake...they thought that my coffee grounds were instant coffee. So, they ran hot water into the cups and scooped a big heaping teaspoon of grounds into the hot water. THe sweetest part of the whole breakfast, was the hand picked rose that was growing in our garden. We each had one, carefully wrapped in a paper napkin and adorning our trays. The twins were so cute with they proudly came to the door and announced "ARE YOU UP YET"?" We were so surprized...and I will never forget it...I will treasure that memory forever!
