what should a person first think of family or himself?

i have many friends and no doubt some of them prefer themselves before their family. this thing pinches me a bit that how can a person be so selfish? a family fully supports him whenever he is in problems and these guys are not doing justice with them what will you suggest these guys? i need your help.

It totally depends. In order to take care if your family, you need to be able to take care of yourself. Now, I would never put my family out, but I need to be the best person I can be to make my family feel the best. Because when momma's not happy.. lol

I feel the same as B. If I am not ok then I look after my family. I also agree theat family comes first. If I must make a dicision about something that would benefit me or my family more, I would make the dicision for the benifit of my family. I am not married so it differs a littles bit. I see a married person as one with his/her family. One cannot make any dicisions without concidering your family. If you are not married then you can be a bit selfish at times, especialy when it come to things concerning your future. Does it make sense?
