Craving's of a Pregnant Woman

OK here is a fun topic! What is the strangest thing you have ever craved while pregnant? In the interest of fairness I'll share mine. It was pickled beets. I was sitting at home, oh about 2 in the morning and suddenly I had this horrible craving that would not go away! I ran to the 24 hour market and bought a can of beets. You should have seen the looks I got from the cashier. Then I went home with my big can of beets and ate the whole thing, and promptly got sick! I had to puke outside in a bush cause I couldn't even make it to the bathroom, and when I finally did make it to the bathroom, one look in the mirror convinced me that it was a darn good thing it was so late, because anyone would have thought I was a vampire out on a hunt for blood! True story. Now your turn!

Usually it was grilled cheese, chocolate, and biscuits. Once, I had an anchovy sandwich.

Was it good? The anchovy sandwich? I liked salty things when I was pregnant too. Actually I liked everything, but found that heartburn became a real problem in the last trimester. I lived off of tums. I've had anchovy's on a ceasar salad before, but you could hardly tell it was there.

oh GOD!!, i just cant believe that you rushed at that odd hour to the super market. no doubt , the people may be thinking you a vampire and after that face, when i imagine that i cant stop laughing. how must you be looking, with all that around, of gosh!! people really have such cravings and i have heard that what mother eats or likes to eat the child develops that taste. so is your child a fan of beet or no........ my mother in law said that he ate a lot of fried stuff like spinach dumplings, french fries and many more things and my hubby likes fried stuff like anything specially the spinach mixed in gram flour and salt, green chillies. i m still trying, i hope GOD will help me and then i'll too write about my cravings. i love to read about the experiences and cravings of pregnant women. one lady said that she love ice creas with pickles. listening to that was YUCKKKK!!!!!!. how can she even think that. but its something inside, nobody knows what will u start craving when your turn comes, so i m waiting for my turn . please give me some good wishes so that i also can enjoy the mother hood like you all and can write down my feelings in my discussions. thanx in advance.

Mine aren't all that strange. The first time I was pregnant I could not get enough chinese food. The second time I went through a canned fruit (not fresh) craving. Pineapple, pears, etc. Your story is hilarious though! I loved the vampire image. :D

Yeah, my dad got a kick out of the story too. I think I almost gave him a coronary from laughing so hard. Its one of my favorite memories from being pregnant. Course at the time I wasn't enjoying it that much

Actually I don't think either of my kids like them. But then what kid would? I don't think I liked beets until I was old enough to appreciate the invention of the salad bar!
