Racism

South Africa

Here in South-Africa we get to see alot of American documentaries, and a new channel on crime started not to long ago. My observation is, 90 percent of the criminals are black people. In SA whites are in the minority, so it is understandable that there will be more black people, in jail and so forth. But they are the minority in America, so why is it then, that there are more black people in jail then white people. Is it that the media only concentrate on the blacks, or what is the real situation.

Racism does exist in the mind of some people. Because human are all selfish. Therefore if you are one of the black people, you maybe like to help your fellow people more than the ones with different skin color too. There is no absolute fairness in a person's mind.

that's a sad news... i'm not sure about the media though... all we know here in asia is that racism is already minimal, but this news surely might change our views...

I think racism is very bad. Even though I don't know many racists... or any at all, we still think its funny to make racist jokes. EVen some of the other races love to hear those jokes, you'd be suprised. But I think its also offensive, and you have to be careful what you say and do. But yes, I frown upon racism.
