Is blogging wastes/kills your time?

I have been blogging for about 3 months now. Well, only God knows how much time I had spend, first to design my blog and then to get connected to other people. Of course, my main goal of blogging is to make extra income from affiliate programs. But as of now, my income is just like 2 bucks all total. Am I wasting my time, or will the future look bright soon?
